In real life lately, I have had a lot of good questions from non-Christians (Muslim, Jew, Hindu, etc) about being Christian and our beliefs. If anyone has questions, feel free to ask them here. I am open to respectful discussions on this matter here or in PM. I am a Christian, but I have soul searched on this topic a lot over the years..
Does that means that im not responsible of my actions? By your words, i am not in control.
Also the really pseudo intellectual saying "everything happens for a reason" is one of the worst mindset you can have regard your life and basically it means yolo but said in a tumblr way
If God controls everything why do kids get bone cancer? What purpose does that have? Your God seems like a bit of a ...
we get bone cancer to go live with him? I actually had some health issues like 1.5 years ago, and this might have saved my life having what happened. I believe that God really worked in my life there because of this.
Bad things happen to all of us. It may take years to find out why it happens, but it happens for a reason. God is always in control. At some point, I will probably get cancer and die. It will be sad to leave family and friends then, but I will see them again in heaven and I will get to go to a great place to live with God
I think bad things happen due to the choices that people make. Sometimes our bad choices effect ourselves, and sometimes they effect others. There are many variables which lead to someone getting cancer. Things like health, environment, radiation exposure, chemical exposure, genetics, etc.
God is in control of things, but he also lets us make our own choices. When we choose poorly, happens.
God understands more variables than we do. He can cause things to happen that make us be in a certain place at a certain time which will present us with choices to make.
So god has power over the environment but i can make my choices freely, correct? Do you think it would be wrong to say that your environment influence your choices; so is god deciding which choices i will make anyway considering i will be more inclined to make certain choices depending of the circumstances and setting he put me in?
Do you see your faith as sort of your identity or just one small piece of it? How do you feel about people seeing you as being just a Christian as opposed to, for example being mt01, who likes epicmafia sports pizza and also happens to be a Christian?
I struggled a lot with faith over the years, and my thoughts on this have changed a lot through this. My end realization was that God has controlled every single thing that has happened in my life both good and bad and he has done this for his purpose, whatever that may be. Its amazing when you see what he did and finally realize why something happened.
To answer your question, being Christian is my identity. God has done so much for me and shaped me into what I am, or my whole identity. Yeah I have other interests and passions too. Who knows why I do things like play EM, but God probably has a reason for this too.
How do you feel identifying yourself by a cultural construct?
i'm sorry, i don't mean to be insulting. i'm not saying you're a bad person. i'm sure you're not. i just think that the way people tend to advocate against religion is very underhanded
im not offended im just saying you're being hypocritical.

i trust things i cant understand, true, but i dont have complete faith on them and dedicate my life to them
atheism is just the other side of the coin. while it's true you don't "dedicate" yourself to it because it's not a belief system but rather a rejection of one, you still live without true morality [in God's opinion] because you trust there is no deity. I have faith that there is one.
this makes no sense, why would i care if i dont live according to gods true morality since i dont belive in him?
my point is that you are hypocritical because you do make judgments based on faith. you choose to have faith based on science - which we know is not infallible, being that the meta changes every so often [notable examples being flat earth, evolution, 4 humours] but you still indulge in sin and other profane things regardless.
God is what seems to be the most valid source of the creation of the universe. I have faith in that. You have faith in the opposite, but its the same coin.
