In real life lately, I have had a lot of good questions from non-Christians (Muslim, Jew, Hindu, etc) about being Christian and our beliefs. If anyone has questions, feel free to ask them here. I am open to respectful discussions on this matter here or in PM. I am a Christian, but I have soul searched on this topic a lot over the years..
the concept of hell is also incredibly unjust, in my opinion.
According to Christians, Hitler will be in hell with all of the Jews he murdered, because their god is really just.
well, look at it from an even broader perspective. does anyone, even hitler, deserve to suffer for eternity because of what they did in an incredibly finite life? i dont think anyone deserves torment that literally never ends, ever.
and some people would face that torment simply for concluding differently about god. that bothers me.
it looks like a lot of stuff bothers you
a lot of stuff about religion, yeh
do you ever think that maybe half of the united ststes population does not deserve your contempt
i dont have contempt for religious people. i was religious myself for quite a while.
religion and republicans and fetuses not being aborted
"They're all in favor of the unborn. They will do anything for the unborn. But once you're born, you're on your own. Pro-life conservatives are obsessed with the fetus from conception to nine months, because they want to those fetuses to grow up to be dead soldiers. After you're born and before you're old enough to fight, they don't want to know about you since you're someone else's problem."

every religion was created by man to keep other men in order and/or used as a tool to obtain political power.

i dont have time to read this thread ATM but i'm a former christian who was raised in a religous family, and i've done a lot of study of various religions from around the world. it's a VERY interesting topic, so if you want to talk out your doubts or anything, feel free to shoot me a pm
why did you leave your beliefs out of curiosity. I had a similar story a few years ago but I found my way back after I really saw God's hand in my life
for me, the biggest "smoking gun" is the fact that religion is so geographical. the basic doctrine of christianity assumes that everyone gets an equal shot at finding God, but we can definitely conclude that this isn't true due to the fact that a baby born in saudi arabi will have an almost 0% chance of becoming a Christian in their life.
the fact that most people who become christian were raised in a christian culture is a very good argument against the idea that everyone has an equal shot. unless you wanna get into calvinism, which is a huge stretch and also unjust to me.
also, the genocides in the bible, as well as a number of contradictory/terrible verses.
