In real life lately, I have had a lot of good questions from non-Christians (Muslim, Jew, Hindu, etc) about being Christian and our beliefs. If anyone has questions, feel free to ask them here. I am open to respectful discussions on this matter here or in PM. I am a Christian, but I have soul searched on this topic a lot over the years..
I think bad things happen due to the choices that people make. Sometimes our bad choices effect ourselves, and sometimes they effect others. There are many variables which lead to someone getting cancer. Things like health, environment, radiation exposure, chemical exposure, genetics, etc.
God is in control of things, but he also lets us make our own choices. When we choose poorly, happens.
God understands more variables than we do. He can cause things to happen that make us be in a certain place at a certain time which will present us with choices to make.
tbh, im going to start murdering people so that i at least live up to my reputation. im already going to hell since im not 100% straight, so i might as well make it worth it
i'm sorry, i don't mean to be insulting. i'm not saying you're a bad person. i'm sure you're not. i just think that the way people tend to advocate against religion is very underhanded
im not offended im just saying you're being hypocritical.

the only person who is insulting people for the way they see what a good person is, is you. im just sh!tposting in a dumpster fire of a thread
and even God knows we should all have the right to do that
i trust things i cant understand, true, but i dont have complete faith on them and dedicate my life to them
atheism is just the other side of the coin. while it's true you don't "dedicate" yourself to it because it's not a belief system but rather a rejection of one, you still live without true morality [in God's opinion] because you trust there is no deity. I have faith that there is one.
this makes no sense, why would i care if i dont live according to gods true morality since i dont belive in him?
because it shows that you believe you're a good person on your own accord. if you answered that question humbly you would acknowledge the need for improvement before being content with how you are
you asked r u a good person, not are you the best person you can be... r u high or smthng
i never said i dont believe i dont have room for improvement, as everyone does, no matter their views on religion. being good = trying to do the right thing. being good =/= being perfect.
i was trying to say that being a "good person" is entirely subjective to the framework you put it in. insulting people for the way they see what a good person should be is pointless, especially if they basically believe the same things as you in a different way
im really not insulting people who are religious, i think religion definitely serves a valid purpose, however i think i should have the right to reject religion after it has utterly failed me.
Actually the best example for something. Is that he has faith that communism is the true ideology. That capitalism is unjust.
If you did not have faith in either of these ideas, how could you hold those opinions.
Also going along with this. The concept of communism, everyone has to work together. You have to have faith that everyone will put in their shared amount of work. You also have faith that they won't over indulge.

i read books like the spirit level, like piketty's capital in the 21th century that led me to belive that capitalism is bad, the way capital has a tendency to grow on itself, and how inequality is bad, i belive those tendencies are inherent in capitalism from a ideological standpoint, and always give myself room to change my views, i once belived it wanst inhrent and was a socdem, now after further studying i think it is, i think municipalism is the best shot for a better world, if someone shows me is syndicalism i will accept it, i dont have faith in socialism i just think from what i read and know is the best option for the world

our heads are so big that we need help to even give birth, and even then we have to be born like way early in our development and then our every need has to be taken care of by someone nice enough to do so or else we will die
all of this so can have a stupidly big head and argue about what's real

Do you not dedicate your life to the pursuits of your own happiness? If you got married would you not be dedicating your life to your family and children?
no i dont, and i would not have complete faith in my family and children, i would definitly give myself right to doubt them,i might think my kids lied to me or that my wife lied to me, i would not have complete faith in them ever
i don't think you have to worry about getting to that

and the want to take care of your family is a biological instinct ingrained in you from millions of years of evolution, because humans need each other to survive.
