In real life lately, I have had a lot of good questions from non-Christians (Muslim, Jew, Hindu, etc) about being Christian and our beliefs. If anyone has questions, feel free to ask them here. I am open to respectful discussions on this matter here or in PM. I am a Christian, but I have soul searched on this topic a lot over the years..
saying that shows pride. you're actively committing the worst sin. the virtues of christianity aren't the same as your virtues. that's fine, but don't act like everyone's playing on the same field and that "you can be just as good as them" while being lots smarter and independenter
i was raised christian and i was religious until i was 15 and then i realized that if there is a god, then he's a cruel ba$tard and i can be good and gay on my own without needing heaven as an incentive

i know and feel both in my heart and my mind the Lord would never allow such suffering if it wasn't for a good reason, and while i may never comprehend the unfathomable depth and complexity of God, I can trust in Him that all shall be revealed when He arises; we are simply not read for it yet.
I was not born a Christian, but instead converted after thinking through these things and came to my own conclusions.

There is a lot of questions here that I do not have time to really address now, but i will briefly. For part one, look at the story of adam and eve. They were tempted by the devil and as a punishment God made us all sinners. This is why we all sin. He does help us stop sinning some when you get the spirit.
My version of Christianity is from my experience and guidance of the holy spirit in me from this. I struggled with the existence of a god for a long time. Eventually I saw what he did in my life and literally by the holy spirit I know that its the truth. Nothing else can change you this way

hey mt01, riddle me some of this:
if god created us and jesus died for our sins, why can't people be perfect enough to maybe not kill and torture each other? why does the world work the way it does? why do so many bad things happen to so many people? what's the purpose of that, and why does he need to use such unfair tragedies and give innocent people such rotten lots in life to accomplish his "purpose"? why isn't everyone born knowing this stuff if it's so magical and spiritual?
if you "don't listen to what other people tell you" then where did you get your version of christianity and jesus and "being gay is something you should try to avoid because god says so even though this makes no sense" -- the last of which I'm pretty sure you implied earlier -- in the first place? Did you make it up all on your own, with no help or influence from the rest of society whatsoever?
why should what you "feel" be any more valid than what anyone else feels? Why does god sometimes take a notion to steer you out of harm's way over all the people constantly being left to suffer through awful things with no justice in life except that, according to you, they're going to heaven along with their murderers afterwards and there's a grand purpose they can't fathom?
why are you so perfectly confident in all these obviously contradictory beliefs when you have no actual reason that makes any sense whatsoever?

he will change you into a better person even if you do not want that if you really find him.
We believe in God and his eartly form Jesus that died for us. There is also a 3rd form of God called the holy spirit that come to live in you when you find God. This spirit transforms you into a new person. People will even say how much you changed. In addition to changing your character, it comforts you and gives you inner peace that I do not think you can find any where else
I can only say that God can and will bring out of the sufferings of this life a good that so overshadows them that this life will be seen in retrospect to have been worth it
