In real life lately, I have had a lot of good questions from non-Christians (Muslim, Jew, Hindu, etc) about being Christian and our beliefs. If anyone has questions, feel free to ask them here. I am open to respectful discussions on this matter here or in PM. I am a Christian, but I have soul searched on this topic a lot over the years..
You are immoral for defending ripping fetuses out of a woman's womb and declaring that it's because the fetus was wicked. You are immoral for defending children being torn limb from limb and claiming that what god did was good. You are immoral for defending the r_pe and slavery of virgins captured by the Israelites.
Your god is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.
You are no better for defending those actions as righteous and you have absolutely no moral standing to talk to anyone about what is right or good, ever. This is the most pathetic and pitiful display of idiocy I have ever seen. Sit in your f_cking house and reconsider everything in your entire life that has led you to believe these actions are morally good.
idk if god is real but i'd like to consider an ideal god is if the god existed they would show us in an unambiguous way. he/she would not set up rules for us to follow in order to go somewhere like a paradise because making rules based on what offends or pleases god makes no sense to me. this is a rly important aspect of any god i would consider ideal
god the all mighty couldnt prevent hitler from being born by making his mom sleep too much and not bang his father, but he prevents u from being hit by car doing the same! got it!

God knows what people will do. That cute baby could turn into hitler. Should God kill the baby when he is a baby or after he murders millions of people? Either way you say God is horrible. God knew what these societies would do, and he stopped it from happening. They were warned to be better people, but they did not listen to him and were wiped. Every generation became worse than the last and they were punished eventually for not following God. God is very clear that if you do not follow him you will be punished. If you follow him, you instead see his love and mercy more than you can ever imagine.
In regards to God's character. I agree that he has done some bad things to people in the old testiment, but these were deserved by the people (assume you are talking about things like the passover, flood, and plagues and such). He does this when the whole society turns against him.
Are you serious right now? Don't ignore these questions: Did the fetuses drowned in the biblical flood deserve it? Did the 6 month old baby Midianite slaughtered by the Israelites at the command of god deserve it? Did the virgins captured after the destruction of the Midianites deserve to be slave concubines at the temple at the command of god? Did the mother f_cking children who mocked Elisha for being bald, deserve to be torn apart and dismembered by goddamn bears for making fun of someone's bald head. If you said yes to any of these, you are morally despicable. And if you think these are immoral, then you're more moral than the god you claim to believe in. I really want you to answer each of these questions. This is common sense. Don't justify atrocities. Call them what they are: atrocious.

If you had spent over 10,000 hours playing mafia and still had a negative win rate, you might need a god to hang in there.
how can some border line r*tarded, bible belt dwelling, barely literate, cat roleplaying f*ckwit ever have the audacity to say that entire populations deserve to be wiped out while simultaneously spending her time reporting people on an online mafia site
Also, I'm specifically referring to the genocides in the Bible.
what is the difference between God destroying a civilization via natural mechanisms like a storm vs by a sword? God can use whichever mechanism that he thinks is best. These cities were very evil, and so he needed to wipe them out unfortunately. If they had not done it by sword, it would be by something else like a fire...
God HATES sin, but he does love people and tries to spare them. A similar example was when Abraham was pleading with God to not destroy Sodom. God really wanted to destroy the whole city, but he promised to not destroy it for 50 and then down to 10 righteous people (Genesis 18:20-32). Another example is Genesis 15:16: "In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure.” Here God spared killing the amorites for 4 generations because their sin had not gotten bad enough to destroy them then, but when it got bad enough he destroyed them.
While I do agree that killing a bunch of people is really bad, wicked societies do always fill the wrath of God's hand because of their sin.
this could totally be interpetred as god using hitler to kill the jews btw

mfw idaho parents pray for their child with life-threatening illness and they dont want to give the medical treatment
so dude I am from Idaho actually originally, and people go to the *ing doctor. Idaho is mostly Mormon and not Christian too...
no dude there is this mom who literally chose prayer over medical treatment and her son has life-threatening heart condition. idahos law allows that. r*tarded state lol
There are very bad laws and people in that state. I do agree! Christian Scientists and Jehovah's Witnesses are both Christian sects that refuse medical care. My grandfather was raised in like some group like this, and he lost both his parents to cancer before he was 18 and probably partially due to this. This is not a main stream Christian sect though. I mean one of the first Christian evangelicals, Luke, was a physician!

The religious discourage rational, critical thought. They treat other groups like second class citizens because their religion instructs it...
this made me laugh
that is because you are a sheep
sheep of what
i thought the fact that people care to argue and insult each other over a matter that neither side could prove in any case was funny
is that bad
it's very baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa d

My lover's got humour She's the giggle at a funeral Knows everybody's disapproval I should've worshipped her sooner If the heavens ever did speak She's the last true mouthpiece Every Sunday's getting more bleak A fresh poison each week "We were born sick" You heard them say it My church offers no absolutes She tells me "worship in the bedroom" The only heaven I'll be sent to Is when I'm alone with you I was born sick, but I love it Command me to be well Amen, Amen, Amen Take me to church I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife Offer me that deathless death Good God, let me give you my life
If I'm a pagan of the good times My lover's the sunlight To keep the goddess on my side She demands a sacrifice Drain the whole sea Get something shiny Something meaty for the main course That's a fine looking high horse What you got in the stable? We've a lot of starving faithful That looks tasty That looks plenty This is hungry work Take me to church I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife Offer me that deathless death Good God, let me give you my life
No masters or kings when the ritual begins There is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sin In the madness and soil of that sad earthly scene Only then I am human Only then I am clean Amen, Amen, Amen Take me to church I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife Offer me that deathless death Good God, let me give you my life

mt01 did you know that women cant speak in the church?
the new testament: “…the women should keep silence in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be subordinate, as even the law says. If there is anything they desire to know, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church.” 1 Corinthians 14:34-35
All passages should be read in context. There are some anti-women type passages like this in the Bible but they are not as bad if you read them in context. Paul had to deal with many different cultures. He pressed that being a Christian relied on people only believe in God's gift. Like with circumcision, he was basically saying that people should follow the good custom of that area so that people at church would focus more on the gospel than other things. Women at that time covered their heads and were more submissive, so this was required of them in the church to not seem too radical to the church and not distract people in the church.
