In real life lately, I have had a lot of good questions from non-Christians (Muslim, Jew, Hindu, etc) about being Christian and our beliefs. If anyone has questions, feel free to ask them here. I am open to respectful discussions on this matter here or in PM. I am a Christian, but I have soul searched on this topic a lot over the years..

peace: 1. you can see dead love ones again 2. when bad things happen you know that you will still be okay 3. no stress of trying to be perfect when you cant 4. In general there is more peace and happiness every day
love/friendship: you have someone that will love you for yourself no matter what you do and they will be a great friend to you where no human can do this.
Apart from sleeping better at night because I would believe I am going to heaven while simultaneously believing every poor f*cker that thinks otherwise is going to hell.
What great benefit will your religion bring me mt01

1. there is some truth to this. " Instead of learning to discern truth on your own, you’re told what to believe." I hate organized religion because of this. I do not believe what I am told. I pray and rely on the holy spirit to know what to believe. 2. I agree actually that you should not be forced into a certain framework. You should rely on the spirit only to guide you. I personally like to discuss and learn about other religions/books. 3. again I do not like organized religion. 4. It takes time, but it saves time in some senses. It comforts you and can stop you from worrying about some things out of your control. 5. again organized religion is a joke 6.there is some truth to this. I would not like date out of this network myself, but most of my friends are not Christian. 7 on. there are truths and biases here
Overall, this was mainly about organized religions, which I am opposed to. They are around to just manipulate people. In spite of this, religion is the opposite. It provides many benefits to people.
The evil it spread like a fever ahead It was night when you died, my firefly What could I have said to raise you from the dead? Oh could I be the sky on the Fourth of July? Well you do enough talk My little hawk, why do you cry? Tell me what did you learn from the Tillamook burn? Or the Fourth of July? We’re all gonna die Sitting at the bed with the halo at your head Was it all a disguise, like Junior High Where everything was fiction, future, and prediction Now, where am I? My fading supply Did you get enough love, my little dove Why do you cry? And I’m sorry I left, but it was for the best Though it never felt right My little Versailles The hospital asked should the body be cast Before I say goodbye, my star in the sky Such a funny thought to wrap you up in cloth Do you find it all right, my dragonfly? Shall we look at the moon, my little loon Why do you cry? Make the most of your life, while it is rife While it is light Well you do enough talk My little hawk, why do you cry? Tell me what did you learn from the Tillamook burn? Or the Fourth of July? We’re all gonna die We’re all gonna die We’re all gonna die We’re all gonna die We’re all gonna die We’re all gonna die We’re all gonna die We’re all gonna die

I read the bible, I didn't really think God was a great author. I think he could've had better diction, and his style was really lame and boring, even compared to earlier authors like Plato or Pliny the Elder. Honestly I'd give The Bible a 6.5/10. It's not great, but you have to understand that it is only the author's second book. It has some cool action scenes like one with a sea monster and god has some crazy powers that put DC comics to shame like this one where he turns this chick into a pillar of salt just for showing compassion. He's a pretty bada.ss villain sometimes. Not my favorite book, but it gets points for setting up the framework about a cool sequel where we finally get to see the war between heaven and satan

I do not think that we are that different from monkeys tbh. This has nothing to do with this thread though. Evolution is not questionable and I believe as a scientist that God used Evolution to create both us and chimps
so when is bad religion its no longer god's direct action, thats convinient

I have not discussed this here, but due to my past history, I do not believe in organized religion. This is common in like most religions that people use the religion to manipulate people. This happens in many Christian churches too. The leaders of this are not from God though.
