In real life lately, I have had a lot of good questions from non-Christians (Muslim, Jew, Hindu, etc) about being Christian and our beliefs. If anyone has questions, feel free to ask them here. I am open to respectful discussions on this matter here or in PM. I am a Christian, but I have soul searched on this topic a lot over the years..

There is no constant fear, but only comfort as a Christian. I am a sinner, and I can never be perfect, but I do not need to be. God knows that I could not be and so he died for my sins so that I could have peace, grow closer to him, and live in eternity with him.
seriously? u say as if life is happening all over, ya its very hard thats why we r the only ones in fcking insane amounts of distance

I am a biologist. There are too many parts of biology that can't be explained without a God I think. They are too statically improbable.
One example for me is the incorporation of bacteria into a cell in the form of mitochondria to supply energy to cells. The odds of this being able to happen alone are like impossible. Something guided this to happen
I love studying Biology and it amazes me so much to see the complicated systems that God generated

I think if in general religion helped make the world a better place (it seems like that's the point??) I would have no problem with it but with everything going on in the word I think the bad outweighs the good :( sorry mt01 u lost me on this one
We will never understand the bad in the world. God did say that this would happen though before he came back to judge us all.
While many bad things happen though, I am always at peace and comforted by my relationship with God. The bad will end at some point, and the whole world will be at peace if they believed in God's gift

Can people really be this stupid? Why is it only Americans breed this kind of special breed of stupid, you are a 1st world country ffs
it isn't about being stupid or smart. it's a different spectrum you use to think about things that you can't come to logically
Would you say that it is a spectrum that operates as a sort of vehicle for your personality? Perhaps you would say you are on the spectrum?
ya maybe but im literally describing this person right here

What if God is real but he is evil and Satan tried to help the humans so that they could escape hell and so God turned him into a snake and then just totally like lied about it in all of those books like people do to sell their books sometimes

you're not describing many religious people i've ever met

Do you see your faith as sort of your identity or just one small piece of it? How do you feel about people seeing you as being just a Christian as opposed to, for example being mt01, who likes epicmafia sports pizza and also happens to be a Christian?
I struggled a lot with faith over the years, and my thoughts on this have changed a lot through this. My end realization was that God has controlled every single thing that has happened in my life both good and bad and he has done this for his purpose, whatever that may be. Its amazing when you see what he did and finally realize why something happened.
To answer your question, being Christian is my identity. God has done so much for me and shaped me into what I am, or my whole identity. Yeah I have other interests and passions too. Who knows why I do things like play EM, but God probably has a reason for this too.
So this is the kind of person that believes god intervenes and shapes your everyday life huh
He does this to all. He makes me sleep past my alarm one day so I miss getting in a car wreck. He controls my life and yours even if you do not believe in him. When I did not believe in him, he was still controlling everything..
See this is something I don't get and I promise I'm not making fun of you. Why can't God just make the car wreck not happen? Why can't he just make the driver pay attention/not make a mistake on the road, etc. Why does he have to do it in that way, making you oversleep?
He might make them pay attention, but he may also make you oversleep. a more concrete example in my life was that he had me move to a particular place for a few years. Without going into detail, it was only because of the fact that I lived in this place, that I figured out that I had a medical condition. I never understood why I had to live in this place, but God needed me to live there for this reason
