If God knows exactly where to put you, He must dislike most of humanity by default, right? Because even though it is technically possible for someone who is of another religion to convert to Christianity, the chances are VERY, VERY low. You're telling me that the majority of people are placed on this earth in a place where they will have almost no chance of finding God because that is God's plan?

Also, I'm specifically referring to the genocides in the Bible. Here:

"Thus saith the LORD of hosts ... go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and as*" (Samuel 15: 2-3).

In these cases, God specifically commands His people to commit genocide.

When your spouse is religious and you come out as non-religious, that might lead to a divorce. If your parents are religious, and you come out as non-religious, you might literally be thrown out of the house or disowned. Some religions EXPLICITLY teach and practice this. if you pretend to believe in God for your spouse you probably deserve the divorce. hardly anyone gets disowned for converting and it probably happens for dumber reasons than that. you don't have it bad, stop pretending your society isn't already secular

They cause children to grow up in fear of eternal damnation. They discourage seeking help for mental health problems due to ignorance. They teach abstinence-only sexual education. I will not go into all of this, but I have a few points. Real Christians do not just follow a church leader. They follow God. There is thinking involved with this. I am a scientist even, so I am a thinker and God can use this.

We are taught as Christians to love everyone. We are not supposed to judge anyone, including those of other faiths. We are only to love them and show them God in our lives. People are human though and do not always do this. This is not acceptable by God though.

Politically i am on the left and I disagree with most things you said. There should be things like health care for the mentally ill. Some people use religious arguments for stupid things, but this is not in agreement with God. I have tried to refute people at times even using the Bible and it never goes anywhere. they can't even find support in the Bible for their beliefs.

People are human, and you can't change this sadly...

I have no problem with religion, as long as people do not try to restrict my life because of what THEY believe. What they believe is not necessarily what I believe.

I think gay marriage should be allowed and that birth control abortions should be available. There are religious people who share these views. That's all fine.

There are also religious people who think it's against their faith to have gay marriage, birth control and abortions, and still want them available for others. That's all fine.

There are however also religious people that feel their personal beliefs should be the guideline about how OTHERS live their lifes. They are against gay marriage, against the availability of birth control and abortions, they feel people should not do anything on sunday, they think women should not be allowed to work, et cetera et cetera.

I have a problem with this. Because then people are trying to pressure THEIR beliefs unto me.

Do not touch my freedom of choice. Thank you.

Are you referring to me?
First of all, I'm agnostic - don't assume. Although I don't believe (!) in any of the monotheistic religions myself, I also acknowledge the idea that there are some things we, humans, might not ever find a conclusive answer to and that therefore my beliefs can turn out to be (partially) false. That aside, I see no reason to believe in any of the worlds' monotheistic religions.

Second of all - I don't 'want' everyone to be an atheist, but someone is opening a thread here in which she offers to answer questions about faith and I'm taking that opportunity to ask some questions.

Third of all, I don't see atheists going from door to door, from church to church and from mosque to mosque trying to convince people to 'stop believing', on the other hand I've met plenty of christians who feel it's their duty to try to convince me that their way is best because 'I wouldn't want you to go to hell, Lady'.
